

It launched with no option for offline play - if you couldn't connect to the servers, you couldn't play. You know what the ACTUAL issue was with SimCity 2013 being online was? It wasn't that you had to connect like with Cities: Skylines, it was the fact that to play at all you had to connect to servers, which crashed and burned on the launch meaning you couldn't play AT ALL. The constant ON-LINE requirement was a MAJOR issue as to its downfall thus, I hope the same is not the fate of CS. With all due respect, from my understanding Sim City 5 in 2013 died out due to the constant DRM issues among other things. Please honor those of us CS fans and customers of Steam to have our free-will CHOICE of going ON or OFF-LINE. Consequently, the importance of the mods implemented in my gaming experience is truly the whole reason why I have stayed with and supported Cities Skylines from the beginning- the INDIVIDUALIZING of the city that the mods provide keeps me staying engaged in Cities Skylines.

Without the mods, the base game lacks DEPTH in the INDIVIDUAL characterization of the game play, itself.

In my opinion, the value of the mods make Cities Skylines worth the continued support and enjoyment of the game otherwise, I would have moved on awhile back. Which in fact, was a BIG draw for me and others in that, there would be an OPTION to play OFF-LINE solely for the CHOICE and request of their constituents.Īs noted above.
